Updates received from South Cambridgeshire District Council

Additional green bins policy.

Here is a short update on the new policy for additional green bins

Since 1 April 2019, residents now have to pay a small annual fee to have their additional green bin(s) collected.

  • We have communicated directly with residents who already have additional green bins. So far, we have issued 2,280 additional green bin permits. The majority have been dispatched but we get a few requests each day.
  • Anyone who now orders an additional green bin is automatically asked to pay for the permit at the time of ordering.
  • Bins and permit can up to 14 days to arrive.
  • After the 30 April, we will not empty an additional green bin unless it has a permit displayed.
  • Below is the example artwork of the permit (sticker) that we supply.

  • In case of any delays with dispatch of the permit, we will continue to empty bin without a permit until the end of the April. Crews leave a card (front and back of card attached as example for you) advising residents about the policy change and to prompt them to pay. A copy of the card is attached.
